In addition to its educational programming, ABT also
offers students unique events to further their
learning experience.
College Campus Tours
After the completion of each eight week session, the group is taken on
a campus tour of one of the surrounding universities.
ABT has visited Morehouse College, Spelman College and Clark
University in Atlanta, Ga. The life coaches or mentors will give the
students a choice of two colleges and the students vote on which
college they would like to tour.
Motivational Speakers
Each eight weeks we invite speakers from the surrounding areas to
come and speak to the students on different subjects.
Speakers come to share their stories with the students in order to
inspire, motivate and encourage.
Movies & Skating Party
Students enjoy free movie passes to The Rave Movie Theater and free
skating passes to Hamilton Skate Place. These are used as incentives
for students to work hard at reaching their goals.
Celebration Party
After each eight weeks session, ABT hosts a "Rites of Passage
Celebration." Each participant is presented with a certificate which
contains the goals they have written for themselves. The student’s
parents, teachers and principals are invited to the celebration.
Dinner at J. Alexander’s
All participants who complete the after school "etiquette" program are
invited to J. Alexander’s Restaurant to celebrate and to utilize the
etiquette skills they have learned.
